Bag of Tears, written in early 2000 – one of my favourite raw recordings and lyric stories. Sarcasm at its best.

Ever wonder why words can hurt so bad
Ever wonder how life can get so sad
And the days just slip away
Without answers to your pain
Everybody's carrying their bag of tears
If you wear your heart pinned upon your sleeve
Better learn to start to run it's a necessity
If you haven't got a wall
to protect you from it all
You'll just be carrying your bag of tears
No bag of tears are welcome here just mediocrity
No hand to hold
No mind no soul
No time for pity
And if you see someone on the corner
with their shoulders weighed down
Don't wait for rainbow colors
They will figure it out
They will figure it out
Ever find yourself settling for status quo
Ever wear your suit because
they told you so
Maybe hide and seek is cool
If you think that I'm a fool
I can see you carrying your bag of tears
No bag of tears are welcome here just mediocrity
No hand to hold
No mind no soul
No time for pity
And if you see someone on the corner with their shoulders weighed down
Don't wait for rainbow colors
They will figure it out
They will figure it out
Ever find yourself wondering...
Mediocrity
No time
No rainbow colors
Figure it out

All She Needs
I wait for her and know our meeting won't be pretty
She cut her hair and tell she is far too heavy
But I see the twelve year old I knew when I was twenty
Who used her up and left her second hand
How my soul aches to seek her shake drinking her coffee
All she needs, all she needs is to be loved
It's not the first time I've heard it
It's not the last time I'll see
It is the all too familiar calamity
All we need
All we need
All we need is to be loved
Winter's arrived I find her girls out in their dresses
The look she wears can make you question how she stresses
She married far too young and craved herself a family
Only to starve to death from the silence inside
She'd never harm a flea, but she'll break on empty
All she needs, all she needs is to be loved
It's not the first time I've heard it
It's not the last time I'll see
It is the all too familiar calamity
Where do we find this kind of love?
How do we grow this kind of love?
How do we be this kind of love?
All we need
All we need
All we need is to be loved

This song was born out of two separate women’s stories, women I personally met and fell in love with
Sweet Music
This is a song for you and me
Only a few can know and few will see
when the sweet music plays we gotta be there to sing it
This is the way that we've been made
We realize that we can't hide it
When the sweet music sounds we gotta be around to play it
So what suffocates the songbird from a life of harmony
What silences the soul I've heard is a puppet on a string
So let them laugh and let them jeer
You and I know the faces of our fear
We'll meet them on the edge where we will pledge a simple promise
to sing them over
ah ah ah ah ah ah
over, over
ah ah
Let them laugh and let them jeer
You and I know the faces of our fear
We'll meet them on the edge where we will pledge a simple promise
to sing them over
la la la la la la la la
to sing them over
